Package Content and Product Design:

X-Micro comes in attractive blue box. First impressions are pleasing; products such as this never fail to surprise with their size and weight. Once out of the box, the player weighs around 14 ounces (without batteries). Surprisingly, already
the tiny player has extra room to fit one AA battery which fits neatly in the back of the player.
It also comes with white neck headphones, software CD, USB cable, one battery and
a user manual.

Headphones are white with
a neck strap. With this feature, users can leave this player dangling of their neck while having easy access to the player and its features. Some people find
the neck strap with headphones uncomfortable or dislikable because of extra cables and straps they have to deal with. This particular neck strap is very short and impractical to use, so the author of this review quickly switched to his Sony ear clip headphones.

The player itself lies firmly in hand and is “fairly” easy to operate. It is light enough to be left dangling on one's chest. Large portion of the faceplate is taken by the LCD screen and control dial. Shyly hiding on the top is the microphone opening.

Round plastic USB cover and hold button are located on the players left side.
The round cover has rubbery feel to it and its purpose is to protect the USB port. |

The right side of the player has three buttons; Play/Pause, Equalizer and A-B recording hot button. |
